Referring Veterinarians

Clinic referrals:
VSA strives to make the in-house referral process as easy for you as possible. Though you do not need to contact us prior to referring a client, we are more than happy to consult with you regarding referred or potential referral soft tissue, orthopedic, and neurological (spinal and peripheral) cases via telephone at any time. You may also communicate with us via fax.

For your convenience, you may download our client referral information form. The completed form, along with pertinent medical records and laboratory data, may be faxed to the VSA facility that will be working with your referred patient and client.

When communicating with your clients at the time of referral, please provide them with the telephone contact number for the appropriate VSA facility. Once the client has contacted a client service coordinator at VSA, an appointment time will be scheduled and details regarding our location and appointment logistics (fasting, expected duration of the consultation, etc.) will be reviewed.

Following consultation and/or surgery with VSA, you will be promptly updated by your patient’s clinician via telephone, letter, and/or fax.

Mobile scheduling:
VSA also wants to make the scheduling of mobile surgery cases as easy for you as possible. To expedite the process and insure that we come to your clinic well-prepared, we do request that you or a colleague from your practice that is familiar with the patient’s condition speak directly with a VSA surgeon regarding potential soft tissue or orthopedic mobile scheduling.

Consultations:
Please feel free to contact any of our surgeons regarding case management or general surgical questions. Radiographs or other images may be forwarded to us for review. Please include a brief case description and your contact information when forwarding materials to us for consultation.
