Minimally Invasive Surgery

Minimally invasive surgical techniques utilize several small incisions instead of a single larger incision to allow surgeons to diagnose and treat a variety of problems within the abdomen, thorax, and joints.  As compared to patients who have had more traditional (open) surgical procedures, most minimally invasive surgical patients experience less discomfort and have an earlier return to normal attitude and energy.  Smaller incisions may also reduce the incidence of complications such as infection.
